I think that people like the idea of having some higher power looking out for them. Some may be in denial about God, so the next best thing may be an angel. When someone comes in contact with a near death experience they say, " my guardian angel was looking out for me." Angels are also what people call their loved ones die and go to heaven. People use angels as some sort of comfort or security blanket. People dont seem to argue as much with the term angel as the term God. If you say a guardian angel saved me. that is acceptable. But if you say God saved me...then people ask why didnt God save them also? I dont think that the trend of angels is good. It is a way of admitting to a higher power without directly talking about God. :)
I think that people hold on to the idea of angels because the angels resemble certain beings that watch out for them and then they have something to look up to as sort of a guide. they know that they are protected. this trend could be good or bad. good in a way that they believe in God and a higher power and it could be bad because they could get caught up in the idea that they are invincible and that the Angels will protect them no matter what.
One reason angles are popular in our society is the fact that over the years people have come to believe that God is some vindictive tyrant how is out go get us. Whereas in popular beliefs angles for the most part are totally nonjudgmental individuals who want to help us. I would have to agree with the first post that our cultures infatuation with angles might be partly due to the fact that people are almost starting to worship angles. I think the devil is using another of Gods wonderful creations to divert us from God.

I believe that an angle is a mesenger or has another position serving either God or the devil and in themself should not be paid that much atention to in todays sosioty. in curent times there are religions that believe that angles were humans and promoted to angels. this is not found in the bible and is only one example of how modern socioty has distorted the image of the angle. We have to keep in mind to compare what an angle would say tu us with the bible because one out of three work for the devil.

The Bible shows angels as informing us about God. But the books and media have illustrated a different picture. They say that angels are a spirituality that does not have to have a commitment to God. People think that God is disciplinary, jealous, and judgmental, and angels aren't. Our world is so wicked that when we hear about angels we get hope that maybe there is some good in the world. Satan has used the media to deceive us using God's angels. This is way i think it is not a good trend.

I think that angels have become more popular recently, though sadly, because of the New Age theme and an increase in spirituality. This is not the spirituality that I worship God with. This is a spirituality that worships the things of creation, of which angels are a part, and not the Creator. It's a problem humans will continually face until the end of time on earth. This kind of spiritualism and interest in angels is bad. I believe that angles have become popular in society because of tradition. During the centuries that the Catholic church ruled most of central Europe their were famous painters such as Raphael and Michangelo. Who dipicted angels not really as heavenly bodies, but with some human characteristics which made them alot more real to us. And I think that this is a bad thing, because we try so hard to visualize them that we forget what God has given them to do.They protect us from evil beings who do not just go for our meer posessions but also also our heart. And whose pleasure is to see us in misery. But luckily for us we have a God in heaven who sends his messengers to guard us from these evil things. -IJN
